Next-Generation P2P Reference Project

Rebuilding Indirect Procurement for a Global Industrial Player

The Mandate

A mid-sized international industrial company engaged me to lead the design and platform decision for a next-generation Procure-to-Order (P2O) solution — replacing a legacy P2P system and enabling a rollout across 25 countries by mid-2027.

The Business Case

Transitioning from a fragmented, manual indirect procurement landscape to an AI-powered, largely automated process—deeply integrated into SAP S/4HANA and designed for scalability.

My Role

External workstream lead for as-is analysis, target process design, RFI/RFP, provider evaluation, business case, and platform recommendation.
Coordinating procurement, IT and digitalization stakeholders

  • Introduce intake management to enable compliant purchase requisitions with low user effort.
  • Leverage AI capabilities such as guided buying, improved catalog search, and touchless PO processing.
  • Enable tactical sourcing through AI-supported sourcing and negotiation.
  • Deepen integration with SAP S/4HANA to increase data continuity and automation.

Success KPIs

  • 40–60% shorter P2P cycle time
  • >95% guided-buying adoption
  • >90% user satisfaction score
  • >99% policy compliance
  • 10–20% higher catalog / marketplace usage
  • 50% of transactional cost eliminated
  • 5–10% less maverick spend
  • Spend 1k – 10k: ~ 2-3 % add. savings
